15 Day Free Trial & Why

On May 6, 2011, in Marketing, Radius, by Radius

Today Radius (Lead Management + CRM) launched our new website and made an additional change to our Free Trial. Most of you know, some of you don’t that June 1st will be Radius’ one year birthday. Just under 12 months ago we launched Radius for Insurance Agents worldwide (literally we have agents in Canada and Overseas). Since our launch we have given all new accounts a 30 Day Free Trial to make sure that Radius fits your needs, has your wants and honestly makes your ability to sell insurance easier before you purchase. Granted, there are no contracts so investing $24 for a month in the long run can save you money if you chose not to move forward with.

Over the past 11 months we have learned a number of things, we originally launched with a Credit Card being required to start your Free Trial even though nothing was charged until the 31st day. Radius also launched without features such as Email Dropbox, Drip Marketing & Auto Responders, Agency Module and only one type of Product Commission & Renewal Tracking (take the Tour to find out more). And as you now, we launched with our 30 Day Free Trial.

Today Radius has officially introduced the 15 Day Free Trial which has replaced the former 30 Day Free Trial. Why you ask? The short answer is we know our Insurance Agents better, we have learned from them. We have looked at and analyzed the data and we know that most Insurance Agents whom create Free Trial Accounts, know within two weeks whether or not they are going to use Radius to manage their leads and clients. Some agents know within the first login, while others take the full 30 days to do, but most know within 15 days, hence the 15 Day Free Trial.

Free Trial Account Lapse Data (Last Login)

0 Days: 27%
1-5 Days: 37%
5-10 Days: 15%
10-15 Days: 3%
15-30 Days: 18%

Above we have displayed the percentage of Free Trial Lapsed Account’s last logins to to the overall 30 Day period. You’ll notice that just over a quarter of lapsed account holders log in once and never return, while 37% don’t log in after 5 days of the free trial and 15% only login for the first 10 days of the free trial. So in essence, roughly 80% of the Free Trial Lapsed Accounts know within 15 days that they are not going to use Radius. On the otherhand, you’ll notice that 18% actually use the full 30 days to get through the Free Trial but not joining a paid subscription plan. Most likely this 20% is reacting to drip email that mentions that their 30 Day Free Trial is ending which gets them to jump back into their account to muck around some more before deciding not to continue with Radius. The numbers above do validate going to a 10 Day Free Trial, but the 18% whom do jump back into their account for one last look means that we can find a happy medium of 15 Day Free Trial but shortening the length of time between our “Free Trial Ending” email and the Account being locked (Currently 5 Days down to 3 Now).

When Radius went from Credit Card required to No Credit Card required to create a Free Trial account we where pretty much spot on with what would happen; we could go from lower account sign ups with higher conversion to higher account creations with lower conversion. For the 15 Day Free Trial, we predict the same number of fallout within the first 5 days, but what we do expect is a high conversion based upon the smaller window to make a decision. With 30 days, agents have time to put it aside and not focus on it for a few days or weeks, now with the 15 Day Free Trial agents need to take a long hard look at Radius once they get the account created.

As always, we would love to hear your feedback on this topic.

How we use Radius Drip Marketing

On April 27, 2011, in Marketing, Radius, by Radius

Every time we speak to a new agent or agency whom are inquiring about signing up for Radius we always state “We use Radius on a Daily Basis” and now we wanted to show it. We’ll start a series of posts that show how we use Radius (Lead Management + CRM) on a daily basis to run our business, Radius. Each post will give insight into different feature sets within Radius and hopefully give everyone an idea on how they can apply it to their accounts or even better get them to create an account.

Drip Marketing: One of the best features within Radius

Our original approach was to email capabilities built into Radius, you know, an email admin screen, WYSIWYG, To: Field, Subject: Field, From: Field and the rest to send emails via Radius. As we started down that path during the build out, we didn’t like it, scrapped it and went live with out any email functionality. While we knew we would revisit the concept at one point, we wanted to get to market versus taking another 2 to 3 months to figure out what we wanted and build it. First came the Radius Email Drop box then Drip Marketing and Auto Responders.

Radius Dip Marketing gives agents endless possibilities to create single touch campaigns, multi touch campaigns, auto responders based on coverage type, tags or lead temperatures. We use a multi touch format in a three out of the four emails we send to new accounts, as listed below:

Email One – ‘Welcome to Radius’: The first email a new account holder receives from us. While this is the first touch email, it doesn’t come from our Radius account, it comes from Automated Billing Software. It includes Account Information, Helpful Links, Tips & Tricks, Support Information and a few other snippets that you need to see by creating an account.

Email Two – ‘Building Your Radius Account: Day 4′: First, a bit of setup. While we have thousands of leads in our account, we use Radius Tags to signify Leads that are currently in their 30 Day Free Trial. As an account is created, the Lead within Radius is Tagged ‘Free Trial’ which starts the Drip Marketing campaign process. ‘Day 4′ email has the Marketing Plan configuration of; Send to New Lead, Tagged with Free Trial, 4 Days after being entered into the system. We are not big fans of bombarding users with tons of emails right out of the gate, hence the four day interval, but we want to keep them engaged, so we spread them out a bit. The contents of this email speak to a few standard account configurations one can go through to customize their experience within Radius. Setting up Carriers, Products, Commissions, Renewals and Drip Marketing (Take the Tour to see what we are speaking too).

Email Three – ‘Building Your Radius Account: Day 8′: See a theme here? On the eight day we send out an email to the same marketing plan as above which creates our third touch in the process of our drip marketing campaign. While the marketing plan is consistent, the content of this email has changed. Less copy overall in this email, just three lines and a very large image of a ‘video player’ as the approach with this email is to drive usage of our video tutorials.

Email Four – ’30 Day Free Trial Ending Soon’: Soon this will ready 15 Day Free Trial Ending Soon in the subject line, but that is for another post. Once again, the same marketing plan, just different content. While the main goal here is to make the account user aware that the free trial is ending and their billing information needs to be updated to prevent uninterrupted service, we also cover what features have been rolled out in the past thirty days and what features will be rolled out in the next thirty days. This shows that we are continually improving the product right before their very eyes.

So take what we just described above and think about how you might apply it to your Radius account. Maybe you receive leads from mulitple vendors and want to drip market to each vendor’s leads differently. Maybe you use the Radius Lead Capture form on your website and want to create an Auto Responder. Maybe you write both Health & Life Policies, so you need different email templates based on coverage types. Maybe you sell Group Health and their is a longer lead time or each employee joins at their own pace, so a multi touch campaign is required. Any of the possibilities out there can be executed within Radius Drip Marketing and being that there are no limits to the quantity of Templates and Marketing Plans, the options are endless.

The Quicks – Edit & Add are here…Took a few weeks to from conception to implementation, but it is awesome! As everyone knows, ‘we eat our own dogfood’ (as in we use Radius to manage Radius Leads) and have found this simple but effective feature a shot in the arm to Radius.

Radius Example: Yesterday we need to make a few sales calls as well as a few 30 Day Free Trial follow calls. Here is how we breezed through these calls using The Quicks by Radius:

1. Sort by Tag – Our Tag Cloud includes ‘Free Trial’ for those whom are in the midst of the free trial and another tag of ‘Demo Request’, so we click on the tags and let Radius sort leads by those two tags.

2. Tip Tool – We knew the Leads we had to call, so we hovered over the lead temperature icon to get a quick snippet of the Lead Information.

3. Make the Call - Pretty Straight forward.

4. Call Outcome – Depending on the outcome of our conversation with the Lead, we either used the Quick Note button to add a note or the Quick Edit to change the Subscription Type they are looking to join.

5. Rinse and Repeat – See the beauty of The Quicks is that the saving of data is done in the background, the page is not physically refreshed or reload, so you search or sort by is saved thereby allowing for quicker interaction with Radius and a better user experience.

Insurance Agents now have any easy way to use their Dialer in tandem with Radius.

Simple Senior Benefits uses Radius as “the perfect solution” to manage their Downline Agencies & Agents

Brian Doyle of Simple Senior Benefits in Rochester, NY explains how their Agency and Agents use Radius.

We have agents across the countryRadius Agency Management
With Agents across the Eastern United States, Simple Senior Benefits needed to distribute leads, maintain clients, track commissions & renewals, and manage it real time online. Gone are the days of an insurance agency full of filing cabinets and rolodexes, we needed to make technology our friend while having an edge on the competition.

We needed a solution that wouldn’t overwhelm our agents.
An agent’s time is valuable, it shouldn’t be spent learning cumbersome software hours at a time. Agents need the ability to work leads and service clients on a daily basis without losing precious time stuck in front of the computer.

Help us distribute and maintain leads on our own.
The answer turned out to be Radius. We now manage thousands of Leads and Client with Radius — each one “assigned” to an Agent or Agency. It only took a couple of hours of Radius training…even for agents who initially said that they “don’t do computers.”

Radius Agency ManagementOur agents are using Radius too.
Every Agent contracted with us manages their leads and clients through our Radius Account. Using the IMO Subscription Plan (50 Agents), our staff and vendors on a daily basis import and assign leads to agents in the field to be worked instantly. Internally we can see what is happening in the account across all agencies and agents in real time. Agents post Notes, Tasks, Follow Ups, Documents while assigning Carriers and Products to all leads and clients. It is amazing, and we believe it is a competitive advantage in the insurance marketplace.

Radius (Lead Management + CRM) Agency Module

Radius (Lead Management + CRM) Agency Module

Over the most recent Holiday Season while most were planning their vacations and how best to spend their time away, The Bobs were digging deep into a plan to expand our Multi Agent Subscription Plan features. Head down while plugging and chugging, we stepped back and realized we built one of the most unique answer to one of the longest standing questions from Agency Owners, “How can we Manage our Downline the simplest way possible?”. Answer: Radius | Lead Management + CRM.

While it is hard to say we have really outdone ourselves this time, we have really outdone ourselves this time. The Agency Downline / Upline gives Radius Subscribers the ability to:

1. Agency Types: IMO, FMO, SGA, GA, MGA, LOA, GA are  just the default Agency Types. If you need more, different, less or others, you can easily control these with the Admin Settings.

2. Agencies: Create an entire Hierarchy Structure that aligns with your Agency Structure. If you are a GA, created multiple MGAs that are contracted with you. Assign the Agency Contact, create Agents that are contracted with them all the while giving each of these users limited access to their own book of business Leads and Clients within your account. Push out Leads to specific Agencies or Agents via your Radius Account. Assign Downlines and Uplines to each Agency to create to contracted overrides.

3. Agency Contacts: Each Agency within your Radius Account can have an Agency Contact that can create Agents that fall under their contracts. Limit the amount of Agents and Agency Contact can create but let the Agency Contacts manage the Leads, Commission Structures and more…

4. Commission and Renewals: Radius gives you multiple ways to set up your downline commission and renewal structure with the best part being each user only sees their commission plan, not their uplines. Commissions can be assigned three difference ways, Agency Level, Agent Level or Product Level as a Percentage of Premium or a Flat Fee. Pay a straight commission on a MedicareAdvantage Application while a Percentage of Premium on a Medicare Supplement? No worries, Radius can handle both ways for a specific Agency or Agent.

If you currently have one or a hundred agents writing business for your agency and you want a seamless way to manage their Leads, Clients, Products, Commission and Renewals, you need Radius. There is no easier way to Manage your Downline.

Stop guess what agents are doing with the leads you provide them and start managing their leads and your bottom line.

As always, Radius offers a 30 Day Free Trial, No Credit Card Required, No Contracts, No Sign Up Fees, No Cancellation Fees. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. Take the Tour Now!
