Drug Commercials…

On October 29, 2010, in Marketing, Random, by Radius

We know, we know. This is our third YouTube Video post in two weeks (can we come up with original content?). But for some reason the most recent (or only one we’ve seen) Uloric TV Spot made our head spin. First and foremost, count the number of times ‘Gout’ is mentioned. For those of you playing at home (and skewing towards a college age demographic), take a shot for each mention of ‘Gout’, make a game of it. Going beyond the gout mentions, how about the side effects mentioned, your gout might be the least of your worries.

This gets to the point of this post, push legal drugs is hard enough and ever since Viagra and Cialis came out, the sky has been the limit as far as drug type or campaign concept. But the one or two consistent segments of each commercial are the depression, almost outrageous potential side effects and someone or people going through their typical day with and without the drugs…As we watch these commercials, we feel like the drug of topic will cure what ales me, but then we’ll need to get a prescription to another based upon the side effects and so on and so on…

UPDATE: Upon further review of Uloric Commercial, is the large Science Lab Beaker Prop from a long forgotten Nickelodeon Show, You Can’t Do That on Television followed up by Double Dare?

Email sent to Agents of Record of RBC…

“On Friday, Oct. 22, RBC announced the sale of Liberty Life Insurance Company, its U.S. life insurance business, to Athene Holding Ltd. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is targeted to close during the first quarter of 2011. You can read our press release at: http://cl.exct.net/?qs=03ab770351244d52f18a5e0cdb543c3ede0511e3191ae36a4feb059f8b45a9ed

While we have a strong distribution network and have significantly grown our business under the RBC brand, Liberty Life lacks the scale required to build and maintain a competitive portfolio of insurance and annuity products in the United States. Combined with a more stringent regulatory environment and increased capital requirements, RBC made a strategic decision to divest this part of its insurance business. As soon as practical after closing, Liberty Life will stop selling new business. Until then, we will continue to operate as usual.

Although we will be ending our retail life insurance and annuity operations, you can be confident in the security and performance of business you place with us right up to close. Athene is well capitalized and its seasoned management team has years of experience managing the assets and liabilities of life insurance companies.

In conjunction with the sale, Liberty Life is reinsuring all its life and health business to Protective Life Insurance Company. Protective Life, with annual revenues of $3 billion and assets of $42.3 billion, is rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best and A (Strong) by Fitch Ratings.

A portion of the annuities will be reinsured to Athene Life Re Ltd, a Bermuda based subsidiary of Athene. Athene Life Re currently has $140 million of capital and surplus, and will have over $250 million upon completion of the transaction.

Athene is committed to keeping Liberty Life financially strong and highly rated, and equally committed to your clients’ continued satisfaction. Guarantees and other provisions of our life insurance and annuity contracts will remain in place. Even policyholder service will continue uninterrupted and unchanged.

As always, our commitment to personal service is the foundation of our promise to you. Please feel free to contact us at 888-262-8131. We’ll be happy to address your questions and concerns.”

This is a campaign Liberty Mutual has been running for a number of years…Saw one the other day and couldn’t tell if it was to preachy or trying to hard,  maybe it just has ran it’s course…Granted, we are responsible to do the right thing, but does that mean Liberty Mutual is as well?

Allstate – Mayhem

Not only the best Ad Campaign in the insurance industry, one of the best on television. Saw this yesterday and it may be there best spot yet…Don’t know which concept is funnier, the amount of rocks being fired out of the mower or that the kid calls his dad ‘Robert’ and complains about the $5 Payday.

Email Dropbox Is Here!!!!

On October 16, 2010, in Radius, Random, by Radius

Today is the Official Launch of the Radius Email Dropbox for all Radiusbob.com Agents. Finally The Bobs have lost their Computer Glow Tan and the fruits of their labor are for you to enjoy. Radius now works together with email. You can Send, CC, BCC, or forward emails to your Radius Account and they’ll automatically be attached to the right Lead or Client:

1. Forward, cc, or bcc an email to your Radius Dropbox Address
2. Each user gets their own personal Radius Dropbox email address.
3. Radius receives the email and attaches it to the right Lead or Client
4. Once the email is attached to the person you no longer have to dig through your email app for important emails.
5. It is almost like Magic…

Radius just got a lot easier to use for the fact that you don’t even have to log in to add a note or comment to a Lead or Client, just send an email, it is that simple!

Now everyone knows that we at Radius use Radius and we have to say that we have falling in love (yeah, we said that) with the Radius Email Dropbox. When we are emailing either our leads or clients, we use our dropbox email address in the BCC field and poof, it shows up in our Radius account under that lead or client.  Sending and receiving 100s of emails a day, knowing that we can quick locate all previous emails for specific leads or clients, gives us not only piece of mind, but makes our jobs a lot easier.

In the end, the goal of Radius is to make your job easier and allow you to focus on the real business at hand, putting your clients in the right type of policies.

No Credit Card Required

On October 15, 2010, in Radius, Random, by Radius

We are now into our fifth month of being live with Radius (launched June 1st) and have decided to change our minds, we can do that, we own this beast. As of today, a credit card is not required to create a 30 Free Trial Radius Account…No huge news, the AP Wire didn’t pick it up and maybe the spammers on this blog will help, but we feel that is just time to switch over. Our initial thought process was that since the 30 Day Free Trials is Free and on the 31st day your C/C is charged, actually made for a better user experience with no disrupted service. Now new accounts can jump right in without the fear of having to drop in their credit card information, they’ll just need to update it by the 30th day to prevent account disruption since on the 31st day the account is locked without a credit card or the card is charged.

There was a number of agents whom asked about why it was needed and chose not to create an account, while there was plenty whom were not concerned about it at all. Our expectation are that with less requirements we should see more account creations when we compare with and without. Be on the look out for a blog post in March 2011 as that will be the same five month time span. Or maybe in a few weeks we’ll say it opened the flood gates.

Where’s Waldo?

Where's Waldo

13 States shy of having traffic from Across the US! Also need to give a nod to Singapore, we have an Agent using Radius over there. Plus we have had visits from Italy, Russia, France, Finland, China, Canada and Brazil but those folks where lost, way lost…Nevada is in the lead, but that is us skewing the numbers working in Vegas. Wonder what that map will look like by years end. As we have mentioned in the past, we love data and we love Google Analytics to help get us our data….
